Tuesday the 31st of January 2017, saw the launch of a two-day conference, in Essen, Germany, presented jointly by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the European Commission. The Digitising European Industry; First Stakeholders Forum, was an invite only event, bringing together the relevant stakeholders from the public and private sector from countries across Europe. The Forum sought to outline a strategic roadmap for the acceleration of digitisation policies for industry in Europe and gathered thoughts and input from strategic partners in developing a way forward.
Advanced Manufacturing Ireland’s, Andrew Lynch met with Mr. Kahlil Rouhana, the Deputy Director General, European Commission, DG Connect, to discuss the progress being made by Irish policy makers, industrial partners and research providing organisations. The Forum’s opening address was given by Mattias Machnig, State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs & Energy. Advanced Manufacturing Ireland held several discussions with partners from the Catapult MTC, Fraunhofers and MADE groups, as well as Siemens, the EU Commission representatives and our Digital Innovation Hub partners.
