IMR Chairman Dr Will Barton was asked to attend SIBA annual lunch hosted by Trinity College. Will was awarded an OBE (order of the British Empire) by her Majesty the Queen for his services to Innovation & Manufacturing. Will has over 40-years experience in the chemical industry with ICI where he progressed to the level of Manufacturing Director in the USA, ultimately with Zeneca. He joined the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) on a part time basis in 2009 as Head of Technology, then Head of Manufacturing and was responsible for the development of a highly regarded High-Value Manufacturing Strategy and also led the setup and became the first board member of the High-Value Manufacturing Catapult. SIBA is the Swiss, Irish Business Association founded in 1988 it is a private and politically neutral non-profit organisation. Since its inception in 1988, SIBA has been bringing together business leaders by facilitating contacts and providing a networking platform for the exchange of ideas, trade information and business opportunities between Ireland and Switzerland.
