On the 8th of June, the World Manufacturing Summit was held in Northern Italy.  The organising committee invited senior thought leaders in advanced manufacturing, from different regions of the world.  Dr Andrew Lynch, Chief Innovation Officer with Irish Manufacturing Research, was invited to represent the Irish perspective at the forum.  Keynote speakers included Jan Mrosik, the CEO Digital Factory Division, Siemens and Agostino Santoni, Managing Director, Cisco.  The main panels focused on global trends impacting the manufacturing into the next ten years.  Andrew, who represented Irish interests at the industrial panel, was asked to invite a number of Irish companies to Italy later this year, to engage directly with the World Manufacturing Summit Chairman, Prof. Marco Taisch.  For more information on the Summit, see www.manufacturingsummit.org or contact Andrew andrew.lynch@imr.ie
